ADVOCACY & ACTION
How are we putting Matthew 25 into action?
The Matthew 25 Initiative supports efforts that promote redemption, restoration, accountability, and second chances. Through ministry partnerships, legislative advocacy, and community engagement, we seek to put faith into action.
Life 180 Church (website coming soon.....)
Life 180 Church is a church founded and led by incarcerated men at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, Tennessee. Since its founding, a second campus has been established at Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg, Tennessee. Life 180 stands as a powerful testimony that God can transform lives in any circumstance, as incarcerated men lead others to Christ through worship, discipleship, and biblical teaching from within prison walls. A direct link to their website will be added to The Matthew 25 Initiative's website soon.

When Justice and Redemption Meet
Can a person change after decades of growth, education, accountability, and rehabilitation? HB 2229 says those efforts should matter. This legislation creates an earned pathway to parole eligibility for individuals serving life sentences who demonstrate long-term transformation through exemplary conduct, educational achievement, and participation in rehabilitative programs. Grounded in the belief that redemption is possible and accountability is essential, HB 2229 seeks to strengthen public safety while offering hope to those who have dedicated years to becoming better than their past.
As with every issue we engage in, we encourage you to begin with prayer. Pray for wisdom for our elected leaders, healing for victims and their families, transformation for those who are incarcerated, and guidance as you consider this legislation. Then, we invite you to learn more about HB 2229, review the full bill, and make your voice heard. If you believe in a justice system that values accountability, rehabilitation, and redemption, please consider signing the petition in support of this important reform. Together, through faith, prayer, and action, we can advocate for a more just and restorative future.
