THE MATTHEW 25 INITIATIVE
See the Forgotten.
Serve the Vulnerable.
Pursue Justice.
Participate in Redemption.
"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" - Matthew 25:40
MATTHEW 25:31-34
CHRIST THE KING AND THE INVITATION
“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory…”
Our Mandate:
Everything we do begins with the recognition that Jesus Christ is King.
Matthew 25 reminds us that all people and all nations ultimately stand accountable before Him. Justice, mercy, and righteousness are not political concepts—they are kingdom principles.
Because Christ judges both individuals and societies, we seek to influence Tennessee’s justice system with biblical values of:
-
Truth
-
Accountability
-
Mercy
-
Restoration
We believe choices matter, redemption is possible, and faithfulness to God’s calling brings eternal significance.
Our work is grounded in the reality that Christ reigns now and will one day judge the nations.
MATTHEW 25:35–40
COMPASSION IN ACTION
“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink…”
Our Mandate:
Jesus identifies Himself with the hungry, the stranger, the sick, the prisoner, and the forgotten.
Therefore, compassion is not optional—it is obedience.
We seek to meet both spiritual and practical needs by supporting efforts that provide:
-
Food assistance
-
Clothing
-
Housing
-
Employment opportunities
-
Family support
-
Community resources
-
Prison ministry
-
Mentorship and rehabilitation
-
Reentry and restoration support
We believe every person bears the image of God and deserves dignity, hope, and the opportunity for transformation.
Whether serving the incarcerated, the recovering addict, the struggling parent, or the returning citizen, we recognize that every act of mercy is ultimately service unto Christ Himself.
This is the cornerstone of our mission.
MATTHEW 25:41–45
A SOLEMN WARNING
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me…”
Our Mandate:
Matthew 25 warns against the danger of indifference.
The issue is not what these individuals actively did wrong, but what they failed to do.
Needs ignored became opportunities lost.
The Church is called not merely to care, but to act.
Therefore, we commit ourselves to:
-
Seeing those others overlook
-
Responding to suffering rather than ignoring it
-
Recognizing Christ in the hurting
-
Creating pathways toward restoration and redemption
-
Transforming concern into meaningful service
Faith requires action.
Compassion must become ministry.
Love must become tangible.
MATTHEW 25:46
ETERNITY
“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
Our Mandate:
The stakes are eternal.
Matthew 25 concludes by reminding us that every life matters because every soul has eternal value.
For this reason, we pursue justice, restoration, and redemption with urgency and purpose.
We believe God can transform lives, restore families, strengthen communities, and bring hope where despair once existed.
Our mission is not simply social improvement.
It is participation in God’s redemptive work through the power of Jesus Christ.
Because eternity matters.
